Jan 6,2002 Prisoners' and Pelican Harbors at Santa Cruz Harbor
"I'm thinking we will see Whales today" Erin
The Pier at Prisoner's Harbor, once a busy place loading cattle from the Ranch
The lookout hut above the Pier. Sure would be nice as a little weekend getaway!!
There are so many interesting formations carved by the wind and the Sea
"Thar She blows!!"
A majestic Alaskan Gray surfaces and spouts not far from us
After lingering on the surface for a short time the Whale returns to feed on the bottom Seeing these creatures in person and up close is breathtaking
The old landing at Pelican Harbor, such a lovely place
The entrance to Pelican Harbor. This place is pretty well protected, and very interesting to explore. Used to be a Hotel/Speakeasy here in the 20's
Kit checks out the century plants out on the Point that form the West side of the Harbor
Too soon, S. Avanti leaves the Island and glides back to our Harbor across the Channel (approx. 25 miles away, or one hour)
