Jan 13,2002 Was hard to believe it is Winter! What a beautiful day! S. Avanti and crew explored part of the backside of Santa Cruz Island "Water, water everywhere......"
Valley Anchorage, a great place to stop for lunch
Coches Prietos (Black Pig in Spanish) a pretty cresent shaped anchorage. The wild pigs on the Island used to come down and rout on the beach in the evenings here. A good anchorage as long as there is no South swell.
Some Wildlife!
We see some unusual things out here! This is a hugh flock of Seagulls working the small fish that Dolphins have herded to the surface
Now, here's a couple of "rare" birds indeed!
Albert's Anchorage. There is a nice reef just offshore, just perfect for snorkeling or diving
Part of Albert's is comprised of rough rock outcrops. Our photographer likes rocks!
The beauty is such here, that sometimes you almost get a religious feeling!
A Northbound Freighter passes our stern as we leave the Island and head home Click here to return to Recent Outings
